Silver Orange Bistro

In Hartebeespoort

Type: Restaurant

We have reached our final restaurant in our quest to visit 52 places in 52 weeks, and what a year it has been. Silver Orange Bistro is a worthy finale, they definitely rank in our top 3 places to visit. We were shown to our table right next to the fireplace, which they don’t normally light early morning but did for us as it was particularly cold this morning.

They have indoor and outdoor seating available dependent on the weather and the occasion.

We were surprised at the menu that offers a unique taste experience with Fillet kebabs or smoked trout options in the breakfast menu and Duck, Ostrich or Springbok in the mains menu.

What a taste explosion and 5 star quality food on your plate for a very reasonable price. Then at the end of your meal just when you think you are done and can’t fit anything more in, they bring you a complimentary scone with cream.

Follow the path down through the citrus trees to the Almost Orange bar and Gin tasting venue. They offer beers and platters for a lazy Saturday afternoon in amongst the citrus plantation.

This is worth the trip and a second or third visit during the warm summer months. Bookings are essential as it fills up quickly.

At the bottom of this blog, you can scroll all the way to the bottom to view all the places we have visited over the past 2 and a half years. Click on the name of the restaurant and it will open up, where we went and our experience of the place. Hope you enjoyed this blog, hope to see you out and about soon
